One of my friends is having brain surgery on Friday to remove a tumor they just discovered today. She is the mother to two kids and my mother's best friend.

I have this uncle. He was my favorite uncle when I was growing up. I didn't get to see him that often, but when I did, it was great. He came up this weekend and stayed with my grandmother. We went to visit him.
It's amazing to me what you find out about your family once your an adult. The uncle I once loved turned out to be a drunk with a painkiller substance abuse problem who was in rare form that night.
I miss the old uncle. I worry about the new one. |

Disclaimer: Let me start this rant by saying that I have nothing against the Chihuahua breed in general. This entry is in response to the dogs of that breed that reside in my neighborhood. I understand that these two specimens do not represent the breed. Those that love these little creatures...more power to you.
We have become surrounded by chihuahuas. Okay, so maybe surrounded is an overstatement. Two of our neighbors have brought with them a chihuahua. The one that lives next to us barks, but other than that leaves us to our little lives. I have nothing wrong with this dog. The neighbors themselves are completely without tact, but that's for another entry.
However, the dog that lives behind us...he's a whole different story. Let's start with the name..."Candy" First of all, he is not sweet and second not small nor tasty I'm sure. The reason why Candy has come to be such a problem for us is that he always escapes out of his own backyard and ends up in ours. And it's not like this little sweet chihuahua comes to the sliding glass door and wants to be petted. He pees in our yard and barks at us when we appear at the window to shoo him on his merry way. This has happened on two occasions. I can overlook a dog appearing in the yard once...I mean dogs get out, it happens. I don't like the idea that he's going to start making regular visits.
I know this is not the dog's fault. If the owners actually thought of fixing their fence, this would not be a problem. Unfortunately, the dog has more intellect than his owners, and I don't expect the fence to be fixed anytime soon. |

MySpace is a new evil. I have been sucked in. However, I can't take advantage of the blogging option because some of my students have found my space and they don't need to know more than they already do.
I'm doing the yearbook this year. How's it going you ask? Let's just say James won't let me do it again next year. Not worth the time and especially not worth the money since there isn't any stipend attached to it.
Took Maggie to the dog park in town today. She loved it. I have a few words to say about the chihuahuas that have invaded our neighborhood. |

I have experienced many ways to go on vacation...
driving
trains
flights
boats
I have gone lots of places both here and abroad...
And I must say that the ONLY way to go on vacation is a CRUISE!!!
There is someone that does everything for you...makes up the bed, turns down the bed, freshens your bathroom like 8 times a day, gets your food, clears your plate, brings you drinks, entertains you, brings you to and from the boat...anything you need, someone's job on the boat is to get that for you.
When it was time to come home on Friday, I didn't want to get off the boat!!
We had a great time and can't wait to go again. |

There is too much going on to write about it in complete sentences, so here is the condensed version (in no order whatsoever):
-decided to make Peanut an indoor kitty
-Julius was hit by a car :(
-bought new bedframe, matress set, computer cabinets and endtables
-on a diet and actually losing weight
-Grandma is moving to Manteca (badddddddddd thing for mom)
-Wedding is less than three months away
-cut hair way short (think bob style) and lovin' it
-being a wife is the hardest and yet coolest job ever...just something about waking up next to someone who will love you forever, the good, the bad and the smelly
-elementary school is way different than when we were in school...sexual harrasment and kids who bring pot climbing on roofs
-second year teaching is better, except now you have to pick up for everyone else who slacks off
-in charge of yearbook this year and have no idea what i'm doing
-head of the english department (cause i rock)
-serving awesomely yummy food for the wedding
-James bought me a beautiful Diamond Queen orchid today :D
Basically, I'm a pretty happy clam |
